Niue is not a member state of the United Nations but aims to be a member sooner than later.
Niue's UN membership status is not a barrier to the development support and programmes delivered jointly or individually by 30 UN agencies serving the Pacific region.
The UN Country Team for Cook Islands Niue Samoa and Tokelau has just completed a mission in Niue to discuss the Country Implementation Plan and to discuss gaps and opportunities for stronger collaborations.
The UN Resident Coordinator had the opportunity to share the purpose and expectations of the UN Mission with the people of Niue on the TV Niue News.
