To be the best in service of our member countries.
22 September 2023
The Resident Coordinator Office took time to refresh, set priorities and commit to serving the UNCT and member countries to the best.
It is a small team, but their role in providing the coordination support to the UN Country Team under the UN Multi Country Office that serves the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa and Tokelau is crucial.
With the arrival of the new Resident Coordinator Mr Themba Kalua, the Resident Coordinators Office, stepped out of their office and got together in a mini-retreat.
According to the RC this event is important to create a shared understanding of the roles and expectations of the Resident Coordinator system and the multi country offices. It is the opportunity to clarify individual team member's roles and responsibilities; and to agree on the priorities for the next 3 to 6 months.
" It is also important that we discuss how we can work collaboratively to deliver on the expectations." Kalua added.
Each one of us in this team has unique strengths, knowledge and skills and harnessing these to the best and working collectively as a Team will be very beneficial, Kalua encouraged the team during the Retreat.
The Retreat agenda included a session with Mr Kushal Ramyad, the Chief of the Department of Human Resources at the UN Development Coordination Office that was much appreciated by the staff to clarify concerns and issues regarding performance management, organisational values and other opportunities.
The team then engaged in activities to assess where they are in terms of performances, and brainstormed and shared ideas on best practises to foster team spirit, personal bests and success as a collective.
