NIUE - Country Implementation Plan 2023-2024 Review Report.

Between 2023 and 2024, 13 UN agencies provided coordinated development support to Niue, delivering 59 interventions aligned with national priorities under the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. Of the USD 8.2 million required to implement these activities, USD 7.8 million was made available, USD 2.2 million was utilized, indicating implementation delays and under-expenditure. Despite this, key results were achieved, including the launch of a USD 20 million biodiversity project, development of a Blue Economy Strategy, improved health services including mental health and immunization systems, support for inclusive education and climate-resilient WASH, and strengthened child protection and human rights systems. The review highlights the need for stronger coordination, data systems, and alignment of activities with national capacity to ensure full delivery of intended outcomes.
