11 April 2024
This study is part of the Spotlight Initiative, a global partnership between the EU and UN focused on eliminating violence against women and girls worldwide. In Samoa, domestic and intimate partner violence are significant issues, affecting women, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. Children in Samoa face various forms of abuse at home, impacting their ability to learn in school. The study aims to understand how domestic violence affects children's education and the challenges faced by teachers and staff dealing with abused children. Its findings are crucial for developing effective policies and interventions to create a safe learning environment for all.
